Baja Mining(BAJ), is a Canadian mine development company with a 70% interest in the Boleo copper-cobalt-zinc-manganese project located near Santa Rosalia, Baja California Sur, Mexico.

Hired as Staff Accountant by Controller to help the Accounting Teams in Canada and Mexico with various projects.

Job Duties

Communicate with Procurement team and internal customers to assist in the identification and resolution of issues associated with the procurement cycle such as quotes, billing, contracts and other documentation discrepancies
Work with Procurement team members to research A/P discrepancies and variances
Prepare and coordinate requests to generate manual invoices and track them to payment reconciliation
Perform multiple financial cost analyses functions, including cost allocation, setting up cost control systems, collecting data, controlling costs and preparing reports that maintain the company’s cost accounting system.
Submit proper documents for wire transfer payments and follow through to assure payment is issued in a timely manner.
Provide analytical support to upper management with month end close and journal entries.
Work with cross-functional teams to evaluate current processes and tools, propose and drive change in order to improve quality of work.
